Sacramento CA Chiropractor Helps With Mobility

It’s a great day at Barham Chiropractic!

Our Sacramento CA Chiropractic Office very often helps quite a bit with mobility.

Even when our patients are relatively healthy or are no longer recovering from injuries they experience increased mobility as they continue with care.

Very often people stretch to increase mobility, but what most people don’t realize is that you may be limited due to subluxations.

You may not be able to increase mobility without correcting the subluxations!

In this short blog, we wanted to discuss what areas we usually help, and how long it takes for us to improve mobility.

If you are interested in the science behind chiropractic care and mobility, check out this article, where we broke down all the science behind our claims.

What Areas Usually Lose Mobility?

At our Sacramento Chiropractor office, what we see most often in our patients is a loss of mobility in the hips, knees, lower back, and ankles.

We strongly recommend doing calisthenics like squats and bends to help with these areas. Keeping a daily routine, even if it is not very strenuous, can make a big difference in your mobility.

An example of an easy routine is something like this:

Hip circles (10 reps each direction): Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and your hands on your hips. Slowly circle your hips clockwise, then counter-clockwise. Keep your feet planted and your upper body still.

Knee hugs (10 reps each leg): Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart. Lift your right knee up towards your chest and hug it with your arms. Hold for a few seconds, then release and repeat on the left side.

Cat-cow stretch (10 reps): Start on your hands and knees with your wrists directly under your shoulders and your knees directly under your hips. Inhale and arch your back, lifting your head and tailbone towards the ceiling. Exhale and round your spine, tucking your chin to your chest and bringing your tailbone towards your knees.

Ankle circles (10 reps each direction): Sit on the floor with your legs extended in front of you. Flex your right foot and circle your ankle clockwise, then counter-clockwise. Repeat on the left side.

Standing forward fold (hold for 30 seconds): Stand with your feet hip-width apart and fold forward, bringing your hands to the floor or your shins. Keep your knees slightly bent and your spine long.

Perform this daily, maybe before bed or once your body is warmed up later in the day.

Also, try gradually increasing the reps or hold times as you feel more comfortable. As always, be sure to consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new exercise routine. If you are our patient, ask us to tailor a routine to your needs.

We would love to help!

How Long Does It Take For Chiropractic Care To Correct Mobility?

At Barham Chiropractic we have had patients who have an increase in mobility as quickly as the first adjustment!

We strongly recommend coming in and getting adjusted because frankly, it may save you a lot of time you would otherwise spend stretching.

Immediate results are actually not uncommon with Chiropractic Care. A study conducted by the National Center for Biotechnology Information found that: immediately increased mobility often caused an instant reduction of headaches and other pain. Unfortunately, It can take several visits to have permanent results. The reason permanent results can take longer is that we need to correct the underlying issues that are causing the loss of mobility. The time it takes to have long-term mobility truly depends on the severity of your health condition.

Thanks For Stopping By!

I wish you success on your health journey and would love to earn an opportunity to help.

We have helped a lot of people gain mobility they had lost for years and are very confident we can help most people.
